MEA Annual Awards Night

IKONIX was engaged as the production designers & managers by Onstage Entertainment to create a captivating and memorable opening act that would wow the audience attending the MEA Annual Awards Night.

The Vision

IKONIX was engaged as the production designers & managers by Onstage Entertainment to create a captivating and memorable opening act that would wow the audience attending the MEA Annual Awards Night

With many industry professionals in the crowd this was IKONIX’s time to impress with a unique display full of innovative design ideas. IKONIX worked with the hardworking & creative team at Onstage Entertainment to bring this visionary concept to life.

The Equipment

In order to provide memorable productions IKONIX has a collection of talented companies behind them and in order to bring this show to life we relied on:

Notch Media Server
It was decided early on that Notch would be ideal for this show due to its flexibility with colours, textures & camera positions within a 3D space.

Capture
We rely heavily on this software for all of our pre-vis work, we find it produces the best results and is a user-friendly interface that we and our designers enjoy working with.

RTI Neo 6 Lasers
High end, quality lasers we purchased to produce dynamic and flexible results with easy installation and programming.

The Process

Pre-production was an intense two week period of content creation, laser & lighting design/programming plus a lot of work using Capture in our very own custom built pre-vis suite.

IKONIX & the production team also decided to film one of the dancers under black light conditions. Using Notch we were able to duplicate this footage to create 4 dimensional content across the large blend & side projection screens with a final resolution over 4K.

The entire show was also time-coded to ensure the additional elements we were working with (lasers, lights, video) would work together to create a seamless show.
